The Knicks shocked a lot of people when they abruptly traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Dallas Mavericks along with Courtney Lee, Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. In return, they got Dennis Smith Jr., the expiring contracts of DeAndre Jordan and Wesley Matthews, along with two future first-round draft picks. At first, Knicks fans were furious.
As more info came out that Porzingis didn’t wanna be with the Knicks in the future…mixed in with a senseless tweet of a GIF dapping up Luka Doncic, the fan base took a turn on the deal. They also realized that it gives them the opportunity now to sign two max free agents this summer. I explained in my column why the trade actually sets the Knicks up for a hopeful future…if they can make a few splashes in the summer.
The Brooklyn Nets are the hottest team in the NBA since early December…and not enough people are showing them love. Kenny Atkinson has made a team that won 28 games all of last season reach that total before February as they are the 6th seed in the Eastern Conference right now. I wrote a column for WFAN breaking down how impressive the Nets have been, especially with all the injuries they have fought through.

LeBron James is taking his talents to Hollywood to play for the Los Angeles Lakers. King James signed a four-year, $154 million deal to try and get the Lakers back to the promised land. What does LeBron’s decision this time around mean for the rest of the NBA. Check out my WFAN column below.
I had the chance to speak with Knicks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Earl ‘The Pearl’ Monroe just minutes after the Knicks took Kevin Knox in the NBA Draft. We spoke about the pick, the Knicks future, LeBron James, and him still being part of the greatest backcourt ever. Monroe was speaking on a panel at a charity event benefiting the NBA Retired Players Association and their initiatives to children in West Africa. I also spoke with former Knicks Len Elmore and Tom Hoover.
