WFAN: Earl ‘The Pearl’ Monroe on Knicks future, Knox pick, LeBron

I had the chance to speak with Knicks legend and NBA Hall of Famer Earl ‘The Pearl’ Monroe just minutes after the Knicks took Kevin Knox in the NBA Draft. We spoke about the pick, the Knicks future, LeBron James, and him still being part of the greatest backcourt ever. Monroe was speaking on a panel at a charity event benefiting the NBA Retired Players Association and their initiatives to children in West Africa. I also spoke with former Knicks Len Elmore and Tom Hoover.

Brown And Maroulis Demo Tape

With The Jake Brown Show now over, my search for a new show is in full effect. I’m stoked to be teaming up with Constantine Maroulis. He has co-hosted a few shows with me and we have some tremendous chemistry and have a lot in common, despite our 15-year age gap, which he hates that I always bring up.

If you don’t know, Maroulis was a Tony-nominated broadway star in Rock of Ages. He gained recognition at first from American Idol, where he finished in the top six in season four, which was eventually won by Carrie Underwood. After Idol, Maroulis took his talents to broadway, while also putting together new music. Many people know “Connie,” which I learned was his nickname, but he also loves sports and is a big Yankees, Giants fan.

Both of us have a strong passion for sports…but we also love music, broadway, musicals, women, food, New York, and all the things that we should love in life. We are passionate when we debate sports, whether it’s Yankees vs. Mets, Giants vs. Jets, basketball, sports talk radio, Mike Francesa, etc. We can talk about this stuff for hours, and now we search for the platform to do it on. We’re going to blend sports, entertainment, and lifestyle, and interview guests from all these fields. Expect debate, banter, big guests, callers, and new segments every week.

Enjoy the demo tape I put together and buckle up for a new show coming soon. We are in the process of pitching the show now to various networks, and hope to be on the airwaves sometime in the coming months. Our goal is to make this a show for not just the huge sports fan, but the casual fan, who also loves music, food, women, and the finer things in life.

Any idea with names would also help as we have many different ones on the table. (Brown and Maroulis, Connie and Jake, Maroulis and The Baldy, Maroulis and the Snake, Jake and The Greek)

The Jake Brown Show Farewell (3/29/18)

Unfortunately, Entercom has come to the decision to end the Radio.com podcast network. They have their own network, Cadence13, and will not run with any podcasts from the CBS Radio podcast network. It’s been a hell of a run. I’ve been hosting podcasts with CBS since December 2014. I started The Jake Brown Show in October 2016 and a year and a half later it has come to an end. I wanted to say farewell and salute those who made the show happen, the incredible guests, memories, and the people who listened. I’ll be starting up a new show soon and I’m excited what the road ahead holds for me after a ton of success over the past three and a half years. From 4th & Goal with JB & BT and Brown And Troupe with former NFL tight end Ben Troupe…to Brown And Scoop, which had 10 viral interviews, and The Jake Brown Show…it’s been quite the ride.

Brown, Maroulis combine for The Jake Brown Show finale…and new show (3/28/18)

My guy Constantine Maroulis joined me to co-host the finale of The Jake Brown Show. Maroulis has co-hosted the show with me before. Our chemistry is incredible together and to end my show, I’m happy to announce that wherever the new show is headed, it will be a new one.

I’m joining forces with the former American Idol and Rock of Ages star for a sports and entertainment show that will change the game. Stay tuned for more details. Constantine and I both have the passion for sports and our teams, and have fiery rants and debates over a plethora of topics. We both also love musicals…one of us was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance. There may also be a third wheel as we add a female in the fold. Buckle up.
