Brodie Van Wagenen made a splash in his first move as Mets GM. He acquired All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano and 2018’s best closer Edwin Diaz from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Jay Bruce, Anthony Swarzak, outfield prospect Jarred Kelenic, pitching prospect Justin Dunn, and pitcher Gerson Bautista. I wrote a column for WFAN below explaining why Mets fans should be thrilled with the trade.
On Episode 2 of Bawls Deep with Constantine Maroulis and Jake Brown, we open up talking about the rumored Robinson Cano trade to the Mets. We talk Odell vs. Shurmur, Hue Jackson vs. Baker Mayfield, and a whole lot more in sports. Brown’s Beef on umbrellas and buses, Crazy Connie on chewing with mouth open, Mom’s Memories on Mama Brown Thanksgiving, and LET’S JAM! (11/30/18) Listen to the whole show below on SoundCloud.
I’m happy to finally be back behind the microphone. After seven long months of not doing a show, I’m back! I just started up a sports, entertainment, and lifestyle podcast with my buddy Constantine Maroulis. We have gone with the name “Bawls Deep with Connie and Jake.”
Constantine aka “Connie” was one the finalists on American Idol, where he is remembered most. He also was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance on broadway in “Rock of Ages.” He’s also starred in Jekyll & Hyde and several other programs, but forever will be remembered from season 4 of American Idol, where 30 million people were watching him every week on FOX.
You can hear Episode 1 of the podcast below on SoundCloud. We are still working on where the podcast is going to live, but for now, enjoy the first episode on SoundCloud. We debate the future of Eli Manning, talk dating and the world of dating apps, we jam to some music, talk American Idol, and a whole lot more.

It’s the same nonsense every August. Players come back from the long offseason and people want to overreact in one way or another about how they perform when the games don’t count. I wrote a column for WFAN about the overhype that surrounds the NFL preseason.
This has been about as much of a nightmare and dysfunctional season as you can get. The New York Mets have been absolute trainwreck. I take a look back at the abundance of moments and decisions that have made this team a sideshow in my latest WFAN column.
Joakim Noah still has two years left on his contract and a boatload of money. Many say the Knicks should eat the contract and cut him, but I disagree. Check out my latest WFAN column on why the Knicks should keep Noah and play him next season.
The Mets trade pieces are not getting them much back in return. Check out my latest WFAN column explaining who may get dealt and why the Mets aren’t getting back huge pieces in return.
