On this episode of Bawls Deep with Constantine Maroulis and I, we open the show with our New Year’s resolutions. We also discuss what we want to leave behind in 2018. (ghosting, gender reveal parties, 90’s fashion, long Instagram Happy Birthday stories)
In the second half of the show, we are joined by our first guest with me and Connie together. Jimmy Traina from Sports Illustrated joins us to talk everything sports and the world of sports media in a wide-ranging interview.
Tune in to Episode 4 of my sports/entertainment/lifestyle podcast Bawls Deep with my co-host Constantine Maroulis. We discuss Connie’s trip to Guatemala, the Mets aggressive offseason, Giants and Eli Manning’s future, NFL playoff picture, my beef with anti-bald girls, top movies out now, and much more.
Tune in to Episode 3 of Bawls Deep with Jake Brown riding solo as Constantine Maroulis is away. Jake is joined by NFL Network and SiriusXM NFL Radio’s Cole Wright. I open the show solo talking about the Mets blockbuster trade getting Cano and Diaz and how he loves it.
(13:45-end) Cole Wright then joins Jake for the rest of the show to talk about all of this: |
The Final Drive, Sneaker Shouts, Team Adidas, Will Blackmon, Makeup, Ref calling NFL player a bitch, Jake’s love of musicals, Sister Act 2, Mamma Mia, Mike McCarthy firing, Kelvin Benjamin getting cut by Bills, Chicken nuggets, Burger King 8 slices of cheese Whopper, Best fast food fries, Deal hunting, Mom’s Memories hotel edition, Jake & Cole freestyle rap, PETA’s absurd soft tweet, never dating a vegan. (12/5/18)

We talk Odell vs. Shurmur, Hue Jackson vs. Baker Mayfield, and a whole lot more in sports. I’m happy to finally be back behind the microphone. After seven long months of not doing a show, I’m back! I just started up a sports, entertainment, and lifestyle podcast with my buddy Constantine Maroulis. We have gone with the name “Bawls Deep with Connie and Jake.”
Constantine aka “Connie” was one the finalists on American Idol, where he is remembered most. He also was nominated for a Tony Award for his performance on broadway in “Rock of Ages.” He’s also starred in Jekyll & Hyde and several other programs, but forever will be remembered from season 4 of American Idol, where 30 million people were watching him every week on FOX.
You can hear Episode 1 of the podcast below on SoundCloud. We are still working on where the podcast is going to live, but for now, enjoy the first episode on SoundCloud. We debate the future of Eli Manning, talk dating and the world of dating apps, we jam to some music, talk American Idol, and a whole lot more.
I was a guest on my former station where it all started, AM1240-WGBB. I joined the SportsTalk1240 crew to talk about the Mets awful turnaround, their recent two-game win streak, and what has gone wrong for the 2018 team. (6/17/18)
I joined Rich Quinones on 97.3 ESPN Radio South Jersey to talk NBA playoffs, Knicks, NBA Draft, and more. (5/18/18)
With The Jake Brown Show now over, my search for a new show is in full effect. I’m stoked to be teaming up with Constantine Maroulis. He has co-hosted a few shows with me and we have some tremendous chemistry and have a lot in common, despite our 15-year age gap, which he hates that I always bring up.
If you don’t know, Maroulis was a Tony-nominated broadway star in Rock of Ages. He gained recognition at first from American Idol, where he finished in the top six in season four, which was eventually won by Carrie Underwood. After Idol, Maroulis took his talents to broadway, while also putting together new music. Many people know “Connie,” which I learned was his nickname, but he also loves sports and is a big Yankees, Giants fan.
Both of us have a strong passion for sports…but we also love music, broadway, musicals, women, food, New York, and all the things that we should love in life. We are passionate when we debate sports, whether it’s Yankees vs. Mets, Giants vs. Jets, basketball, sports talk radio, Mike Francesa, etc. We can talk about this stuff for hours, and now we search for the platform to do it on. We’re going to blend sports, entertainment, and lifestyle, and interview guests from all these fields. Expect debate, banter, big guests, callers, and new segments every week.
Enjoy the demo tape I put together and buckle up for a new show coming soon. We are in the process of pitching the show now to various networks, and hope to be on the airwaves sometime in the coming months. Our goal is to make this a show for not just the huge sports fan, but the casual fan, who also loves music, food, women, and the finer things in life.
Any idea with names would also help as we have many different ones on the table. (Brown and Maroulis, Connie and Jake, Maroulis and The Baldy, Maroulis and the Snake, Jake and The Greek)
I joined Matthew Cerrone and Robert Brender to co-host SNY’s “Meet The MetsCast” podcast. We talk Noah Syndergaard and the New York media, injuries piling up for the Mets, the lunatic 12-year-old Mets fan that I go off on, and more.
Check out my 2016 sports radio air check to end the year and head into 2017. It features a rant of mine on Cam Newton and one on David Ortiz.
